A New Chapter for ZOIS Leadership

We are pleased to announce a significant leadership transition within the Zero Outage Industry Standard (ZOIS). Effective January of this year, Klaus Reile, Head of Customer Success EMEA & LATAM at NetApp Germany, has assumed the position of Chairman, succeeding Christian Vetterli of T-Systems International.

First and foremost, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to Christian Vetterli, who has served as Chairman for almost three years. During this time, Christian played a key role in guiding the organisation, strengthening its foundations and supporting the continued development of the Zero Outage Industry Standard. His commitment to the ZOIS community has been invaluable and we thank him warmly for everything he has contributed.

We are equally pleased to welcome Klaus Reile as the new Chairman of ZOIS. Klaus has been part of the association from the very beginning. Representing NetApp, one of ZOIS founding members, he has been deeply involved in development of the association since its launch in Barcelona in November 2016.

Over the years, Klaus has been a driving force behind the People Stream, initially leading it together with Michael Mayr and later alone, ensuring continuity and further strengthening one of the most important pillars of the Standard. Now, together with his workstream team, he is leading the continuous update of the People stream, ensuring the standard evolves in line with the changing technology landscape and the new challenges introduced by AI.

More recently, Klaus has been leading the evolution of these standards to reflect today’s rapidly changing technology landscape, including the new challenges and opportunities introduced by AI.

With his extensive experience in IT leadership, operational resilience and standards development, Klaus brings deep expertise, continuity and a clear vision to the association. We are confident that under his chairmanship, ZOIS will continue to evolve and further strengthen its mission to minimise outages and build trust in digital services.

We thank Christian for his leadership and dedication over the past years and warmly welcome Klaus into his new role as Chairman of ZOIS.
