AI is the Future! How does this impact People?
At the annual Zero Outage Summit in Vienna, we presented actionable steps for companies to tackle workplace challenges using the Zero Outage approach.
A key issue addressed was the lack of psychological safety, recommending that leaders foster a culture where employees can speak up without fear of blame. Encouraging open communication and recognizing transparency helps employees feel valued and safe to share concerns. Mental wellbeing and resilience were also highlighted, with strategies including wellness programs, counselling services, and flexible work arrangements to prevent burnout.
The importance of continuous learning was discussed, urging leaders to motivate proactive development and provide access to learning resources. Breaking down knowledge silos through post-incident reviews, for example and knowledge-sharing platforms was emphasized to facilitate ongoing improvement.
To enhance collaboration, the creation of cross-functional teams and the use of collaboration tools were recommended. Leaders play a vital role in elevating their teams by modelling transparent communication and supporting a growth mindset. Fostering a supportive environment enables employees to contribute ideas and learn from mistakes, aligning with Zero Outage principles.
Together, these steps and the alignment to the Zero Outage Competence Model help create a resilient workplace culture where continuous improvement and operational excellence thrive.
